I was brought in as a consultant to help establish more process and a higher level of product thinking and execution on the design team. Over the course of a year, I helped grow the team, introduced design sprints, and oversaw several major features as well as the creation of a new design language.

Mentor console
An actionable interface built for a mentor or coach to easily provide encouragement, take time to check-in, or congratulate their clients on a a job well done.
Through 1:1 interviews with existing member organizations and group interviews conducted with coaches and mentors outside the Gloo network, I worked with the product owner to uncover mentor goals, motivations and current friction points. Key takeaways from our research were mapped against our mentor and coach personas and utilized to help write user need statements.
Problems
The challenge
How might we create a solution that allows mentors to:
Have a single place where all their client’s progress can be tracked.
Be provided with actionable next steps to encourage their clients to complete assignments.
Identify clients that are off-track and need the mentor to followup or provide encouragement.
Ideation
Through a combination of design sprints, card sorting exercises and group ideation sessions, we produced early concepts that sought to uncover concrete requirements while addressing our persona needs and building cross functional alignment.
MVP Solutions
Our MVP release focused on making it easy for mentors to quickly identify the clients that they should be engaging with and we designed a series of simple actions to help them encourage progress and catalyze growth.

Working closely with the engineering teams, we transitioned the company away from piecemeal front end development and established a new component based UI library allowing for a significantly more flexible, consistent and beautiful UI.
